Payment & Access Policy
Effective date: 2026-05-11 ·
Applies to: all external learners registering for IGS programs
through the learners portal.
This policy governs the payment installment schedule a learner must follow
to retain ongoing access to a program's session materials, meeting links,
recordings, and quizzes. It also defines the conditions under which late
registration is permitted.
1. Definitions
- 1.1. Program Fee — the published price of a program as listed on the program's enrollment page.
- 1.2. Discount Voucher — a percentage-based reduction issued by IGS at its sole discretion. A voucher reduces the Program Fee but is not, itself, a payment.
- 1.3. Net Price — the Program Fee less the sum of all Discount Vouchers applied to the learner's enrollment at the time the calculation is performed. The Net Price is recomputed each time a voucher is applied.
- 1.4. Deposit — a non-refundable up-front portion of the Net Price, fixed at ten percent (10%) of the Net Price unless otherwise communicated in writing.
- 1.5. Session Installment — the per-session payment portion derived as
(Net Price − Deposit) / Total Sessions, where Total Sessions is the count of scheduled sessions in the learner's offering (or assigned group, where the offering is split into groups).
- 1.6. Total Paid — the cumulative sum of all payments recorded against the learner's enrollment in IGS's records, exclusive of any vouchers applied.
- 1.7. Session N — the Nth chronologically-ordered session of the learner's offering, where N = 1 denotes the first scheduled session.
2. Payment Threshold for Continued Access
- 2.1. To retain access to Session N's meeting link, recording, materials, and quiz, the learner's Total Paid must satisfy:
Required (N) = Deposit + N × Session Installment
- 2.2. Access is determined solely by the inequality
Total Paid ≥ Required (N). This check is applied at the moment the learner attempts to view or download the relevant content; no time-of-payment grace is granted.
- 2.3. By the time Session 1 begins, the learner must have paid at least the Deposit plus one (1) Session Installment. By the time Session N begins, the learner must have paid at least the Deposit plus N Session Installments. By the time the final session begins, the full Net Price must have been paid.
- 2.4. Worked Example. A program with a Program Fee of EGP 4,000, a 10% Discount Voucher, and six (6) sessions produces:
| Net Price | 3,600 |
| Deposit (10%) | 360 |
| Session Installment | (3,600 − 360) / 6 = 540 |
| Required before Session 1 | 360 + 1 × 540 = 900 |
| Required before Session 2 | 360 + 2 × 540 = 1,440 |
| Required before Session 6 | 360 + 6 × 540 = 3,600 |
- 2.5. Single-Session Programs. Where Total Sessions equals one, the entire Net Price is due before that session begins.
- 2.6. Free Programs. Where the Net Price is zero or below, no payment threshold applies and access is unrestricted.
3. Voucher Application Mid-Program
- 3.1. A Discount Voucher applied after enrollment reduces the Net Price prospectively and retroactively. The Deposit and Session Installment are recomputed from the new Net Price, and any session that the recalculation satisfies becomes immediately accessible.
- 3.2. A Discount Voucher is not refundable as cash and cannot be unapplied once linked to an enrollment.
4. Catch-Up and No Retroactive Lock-Out
- 4.1. A learner whose Total Paid falls below the threshold for an upcoming session will lose access to that session's content until the threshold is met.
- 4.2. Once a session has been unlocked by a sufficient Total Paid, it remains accessible for the duration the content is published, even if the learner subsequently falls behind on later installments. No retroactive lock-out is applied to previously unlocked sessions.
- 4.3. A learner who later catches up — by recording an additional payment or by applying a new Discount Voucher — automatically regains access to all sessions their Total Paid now satisfies. No staff action is required.
5. Administrative Overrides
- 5.1. IGS staff cannot override the payment threshold to grant access to a session for which the learner has not paid the Required amount. Access is restored exclusively through recorded payment or voucher application.
- 5.2. Pending bank transfers, claimed-but-unverified payments, and informal arrangements do not contribute to Total Paid until the corresponding payment record is created by IGS staff.
6. Registration Cutoff
- 6.1. Self-registration into an offering is closed once two (2) or more of that offering's sessions have begun (measured as
session start time + 30 minutes < current time). A learner with at most one missed session may still register.
- 6.2. Where every open offering of a program is closed under clause 6.1, the learner will be placed on the program's waitlist and will be enrolled into the next scheduled offering when one becomes available. IGS does not reject interested learners under this clause.
- 6.3. Late registration does not change the payment schedule; the full Net Price remains due according to the schedule in section 2, computed against the offering's total session count regardless of how many sessions have already occurred.
7. Modification of This Policy
IGS may revise this policy from time to time. The version in effect at the
time of a learner's enrollment governs that enrollment unless the learner is
notified in writing of a change.
